I once dreamed of becoming a scientist or ambassador. I eventually was able to become an ambassador for science by getting elected as president of the world’s largest scientific society— the American Chemical Society. I will share my personal and professional journey of how I became the first Asian American and only the 8th woman in 137 years to get elected as ACS President. I have been honored to travel the world sharing my vision of how we can all work together as “Partners for Progress and Prosperity!” I will cover highlights of my journey and also offer a few thoughts on leadership concluding with some life lessons learned.
