Research Associate III


Technical competency in particle science with the ability to execute and complete of particle identification and compendial particle analytical requests.  This hands-on role collects and interprets analytical data supporting quality decisions related to product complaints, release of manufactured products, and enabling new product development.  This role demonstrates strong communication skills during customer engagements, and displays a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise.

  • Some experience with FTIR Microscopy, SEM and EDX analyses, light microscopy (including PLM), and light obscuration techniques for solution particle counting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management, root cause investigations, and technical writing are desirable.
  • Experience working in GDP and GMP environments preferred.
  • Reach conclusions based on research analysis and incorporate recommendations into larger projects. Apply advanced techniques to solving difficult problems. Approve technical feasibility of complex design concepts within area of expertise; advise management regarding appropriate action.
  • Efficiently execute programs in such a way as to reduce cycle-time while meeting all regulatory and quality requirements under general direction. Independently plan, execute and manage projects/programs that both span multiple disciplines and utilize established methods, techniques or approaches.
  • As a good team player, share research outcomes, methodology and cycle-time reduction methods with team members and other divisional personnel.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant Quality System Regulations and other regulatory requirements related to research and development (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities.
  • May supervise and direct Research Associates. Develop state-of-the-art processes (design, quality improvements research techniques, etc.) that span multiple disciplines.
